We were greeted with a Very warm welcome by Robert and Scott who also provided us with precious advice to discover Big Island.
We had a really great experience at the Volcano retreat. Breakfast was delicious, the bed was comfortable, and the place was very nice and ideal for relaxing. The overall environment was cozy and tasteful.

Ich war mit meinem Kumpel da. Auch als nicht Schwules Paar wurden wir herzlich empfangen. Das Gastpaar hat uns Freundlich und herzlich empfangen. Das Bungalo ist grosszügig gesteltet. Hat einen TV mit 100 Kanälen und mehr, eine wunderbare spezielle Regenwalddusche und ein Wirlepool (für alle Zugänglich ausserhalb des Bungalows) Das Frühstück war der absolute hammer. Hab selten in einer Lodge so gutes Frühstück gegessen wie hier. Ein frisch zubereiteten Fruchtsalat und eine "Dutch Pancacke" wie sie es nannten. Dazu frischen Tee und eine Mangowurst. Die Gastgeber sind faktisch immer vor Ort und helfen wenn nötig gerne aus. Sind überaus Freundlich und geben auch Tipps, wo man gut Essen gehen kann oder auch welche Ausflugziele man wie und wann ansteuern sollte. Der einzige Nachteil der Lodge ist, dass sie sehr abgelegen ist. Zum nächten Restaurant ist es +15min Fahrzeit. Dafür ist es super ruhig, gesellig und einfach nur herrlich. Ich kann jedem nur Empfehlen, hier zu übernachten. Komme ich wieder einmal nach Big Island, ist das meine Destination Nr 1.
I stayed there overnight after visiting volcano national park. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. My bamboo hut was very nice and impeccably clean. The owners have a great story of building the retreat and were very personably. This is the nicest place I have even stayed in the volcano area.
